Myrtice Robertson Heuay, 92, of Roanoke Rapids, died Monday, May 4, 2009.

Mrs. Heuay was a native of Warren County, NC, the daughter of the late Foster Edgerton Robertson and Ada Alston Robertson. She was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids for 60 years. She also served faithfully for 50 years as a member of the Roanoke Rapids Woman’s Club. Mrs. Heuay was the secretary/treasurer of Cliff R. Heuay General Contractor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Reid Heuay, who died February 20, 1985, and a brother, Turner Robertson.

Mrs. Heuay is survived by her daughter, Carolyn H. Watlington, and her husband, Ken, of Plymouth, NC; her son, Clifton R. “Rob” Heuay, and his wife, Sandra, of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren, Laura Russett, and her husband, Steve, of New Orleans, LA, Rob Heuay, Jr., and his wife, Amy, of Richmond, Alex Heuay of New Orleans, and Kenny Watlington of Toledo, OH; one great-granddaughter, McAllister Russett; and one brother, Bernard Robertson, of Alexandria, VA.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Layne Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
